simple_sundar இசை வெளியீட்டு விழாவிற்கு இன்னும் சில நாட்களே எஞ்சியுள்ள நிலையில், இதுவரை “31 ஆம் தேதி ஆடியோ வெளியீடு” என்ற அறிவிப்புடன் நாளிதழ்களில் விளம்பரம் எதுவும் வெளியாகவில்லை.
இன்றைக்கு வெளியாகவிருந்த சிறப்பு படங்கள் + செய்திகள் நாளை மறுநாள் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை வெளிவரும் என்று தெரிகிறது. இதுகுறித்து இன்றைய தினகரனில் முதல் பக்கத்தில் வெளிவந்திருக்கும் ஒரு விளம்பரத்தை இணைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
நாம் கூறியதற்கு மாறாக விளம்பரம் எதுவும் இன்று வெளிவரவில்லை என்பது நமக்கு ஏமாற்றம் தான். ஆடியோவை பொறுத்தவரை பாடல்களை கேட்க இண்டர்நெட் டவுன்லோட்கள் மற்றும் இணையங்கள் மலிந்துகிடக்கும் இன்றைய காலகட்டங்களில் கடைகளில் ‘INITIAL SALES’ என்பது மிகவும் முக்கியம். இசை வெளியீட்டிற்கு இன்னும் சில நாட்களே இருக்கும் சூழலில் இப்படி அது குறித்து விளம்பரங்களை வெளியிடாது தவிர்ப்பது அல்லது ஒத்திப்போடுவது ஏன் என்று புரியவில்லை…

I dont understand the marketing startegy of Sun Pictures.In this internet download world , where everyone shamelessly downloads everything free of cost,Sun pictures should advertise in every nook and corner of chennai about audio release, so that everybody who has plans to buy will buy the same.
I think many people who visits this site will also be downloading the songs over internet. As a RAJINI fan , we should only hear the ENTHIRAN songs by purchasing original CD/DVD’s. Everybody rajini fan should avoid internat download of the songs.

உண்மை தான் சுந்தர்ஜி..! ஒரு நேரத்துல தலைவருக்கு பாடும் பாடகர்கள் பாடும் ஸ்டைல் வைத்து (படம் ரிலீஸ் ஆகும் முன்னர்! ஆடியோ cassette நேரம் cassette வாங்கும் முன்னர்.!) தெருவில் நடக்கும்போது கடைகளில் பாடும்போது,அது நிச்சயம் தலைவர் பாடல் தான் என்று கண்டுபிடித்து இருக்கிறேன்..! இவ்வளவுக்கும் பணக்காரனில் இளையராஜா பாடிய ”உள்ளுக்குள்ள சக்கரவர்த்தி ” பாடலை கூட (இளையராஜா பாடியும் கூட..!) கண்டு பிடிச்சு இருக்கேன்..!! இது காரணம் தலைவர் ஏதோ ஒரு விதத்தில் நம் ரத்தத்தில் கலந்து விட்டார் என்று தான் சொல்லவேண்டும்,இன்னும் சொல்ல போனால் அவருடன் நாம் அனைவருக்கும் பூர்வஜென்ம பந்தம் இருக்க வேண்டும்..அப்படி இருந்தால் தான் இவை அனைத்தும் சாத்தியம்.

Dear Sundar, As per your earlier article, If Shankar is very much involved in the marketing aspects. Let us wait to see if there are any surprises in the Ad strategies. Enthiran is definitely not a regular movie for a regular ad methodology. But again on the other side, how will you reach the not so educated class and rural areas. But iam sincerely hoping that there is a surprise waiting for us. Sivaji didnt have an audio function, when we thought at that monent it was the greatest celebrity combination. Still beating all that Sivaji was a milestone in indian cinema history (reaching UK top). This doesnt come as a surprise coz we are going to be talking after some months about the history being scripted by a Man (Superstar) who has single handedly held an industry together.

I think the audio CD will not hit the Market on 31st. May be after telecasting the edited Malisiya Function in SUN TV on next week end ,they will release it. Or they may have another Audio Release or Triler release function in Chennai by next week. But it is not Fare, because we all know how we lost our tempo while 3 of the SIvaji songs was out in internet before 10 days of audio release.I pray this should not happen to Enthiran. I am also observe except Thalivar fans and Regular Movie goiers none are avare about Enthiran Buzz. The Hype which we felt during Sivaji Release is missing Now. Shankar and SUN TV should Do something?

with only a couple of days for audio launch the official statement on the date of audio has not yet been released in media.seems the stills and other details will come in a special annexure to dinakaran this friday, details regarding that has been published in today’s news paper which i have posted.it was a disappointment for us , as we expected some official info on audio today.in the current scenario where one can easily download songs from internet initial sales is very important.just wondering what would be the reason for not giving proper publicity when there are only a couple of days for the launch.think music ,which has brought the audio rights has started booking for the audio in chennai ,even then they havent announced it officially , how will the information reach to fans who dont have exposure to internet?
even for a crap movie there is alot of advertisement in media before the audio release, with only few days for the launch , is it wrong from the side of fans to expect some official announcement? other than thalaivar fans,(internet fans) others have no clue about the audio launch.

2. no live telecast in sun tv?
sun tv has advertised for playing normal movie in the saturday .seems there wont be a live telecast from tamil nadu.only astro vaanavil will do live telecast in malaysia.on a some other holiday sun tv will telecast a well edited program.
3.promo in suriyan fm
today suriyan fm has started a promo .starting with a small bit and later announces sun pics, kalanithi maran’s and announces coming soon.

I’m very disapointed, we (rajinifans) are waiting for the songs and the movie, with such a high budget movie advertisements are very important, from some source movie is going to hit the theatres in september so only 1 month for the all the promo stuff of the movie.

I am able to imagine the milestone which had happened never is going to happen in the history of the Indian Cinema and might be the world too.
I agree with you my dear Sundar.. I am also fearing for the same for our world Baasha’s movie (Enthiran) but still i am having hope above all which will tolerate all the hurdles on the pathway is one & only our BOSS – the great “SIVAJI”. (In Padayappa, He will say that in Life, lot of hurdles may be there, but change all of them into oppurtunities. And also not only in his movies but too in real life, his new look, personality, hair, color, tone…etc (all of his ‘-ves’, he made into the ‘+ves’), he became the trendsetter of the tamil cinema and it extend to even hollywood too – 1st person who went frm tamil industry (if iam not wrong) and spoke wit original voice – “bloodstone”).
so, we need not worry about that. And there is no chance(100%) of the film which may end up with the loss (In the case of BABA, it happened due to the bloody ******* politics and in Kuselan, it’s due to overhype and Director’s blunder mistake). Since, in Tamil Nadu, I presume that now about 6million people would be there. Everybody will see/hear at least once of our Thalaivar’s Every movie. And also not only in Tamil Nadu, but even abroad and
in other parts of the country. Even, if most of the people didn’t see/hear the movie why are we here????????/ we(our Boss’s Hard core worldwide fans) will see at least (in the worst than never the case) 2 to 3 times in the theatre. That’s more than enough. And God is in our side only. (“Podaaaaaaaaa, Andavane Namma Pakkam Irukkan….. Ha ha ha ha” – Padaiyappa ” Aaru Padaiyappa”).
And more +es to the film is well known factors – Great Oscar Winner A.R.RAHMAN (who can make the world to come into edge by his lovely as usual rocking music especially for our Boss – “MUTHU”, “PADAIYAPPA”, “BABA”, “SIVAJI”), then Rocking SHANKAR (who will never let down his film in any minute perspective – right from the gentleman to our Boss’s “SIVAJI” – since he will be take care of everything which should be at the level of ordinary man thinking which would help to success at all times), then SPB (the man who has phenomenal voice and power always – right from “NINAITHALE INNIKUM” upto “SIVAJI” – and luck favors him always) and so on….. in the perspective of AUDIO I am saying…….
I am very happy to have all of you….. You all are great gift for me by one man/magic.. I feel like it is a huge family we are and no other actors having – even our co- fellow comparing that bloody person. now only i am remembering that I had seen the vijay awards function almost fully on the last sunday when Vijay tv showed the telecast. In that, the bloody co-actor is replying for the one Great person’s (Dir.Bala) wordings (A.Sivam – is the inspiration for his N.K. movie) is that at least now you are appreciating, that is very happy. how crook he is.. Appa, undigestable – one person is telling that his film is the inspiration for their movie – for that what he should have told?????? – ok, thanks or it is all because of team work something like that.. instead of that he seems to be expecting the wishes like that he replied…I cant even imagine for competing with great mahatma Rajni – see the Epitome for Stylish is saying that it is all because of Sivaji sir (Sivaji Ganesan – in all of his style moves) but this co-actor crook fellow how he is…. Like all our friends here, I am also very concerned about the lack of marketing. I am not very sure why Sun TV is doing this. But, as you and Arunji have said – it is probably a different advertising strategy from Shankar and Sun TV. I am sure Sun TV will not be intentionally doing this. Though – they have had a very bad history with Thalaivar during Kuselan time – I am very sure that a profit oriented organization like Sun TV will never intentionally spoil theiw own big budget movie.
More than Thalaivar and Shankar, Sun TV needs a big hit. All the movies they have distributed so far has not been critically acclaimed. Excpet for Singam and Ayan – I don’t think they had any other big hit movies.
However, the following questions are intriguing..
1. Why is there no news about the audio release in Hindi media?
2. Why is Endhiran audio not released in Hindi? We have never heard about Endhiran hindi songs being recorded. Without Hindi release, whatever we say – the reach will not be maximum. I agree that Sivaji had a wonderful reach in the north indian market – but with either Hindi Dubbing, English Subtitles and more marketing in North India – especially Hindi channels – it would have had much more media attention and a far more wider reach.
3. Why is there absolutely no advertisement in India regarding the audio release? I am very afraid that if the audio is released on Live TV in Malaysia – people will record it and release in internet. Would it not hammer the interest in the audio?
4. What have they done to avoid piracy and promote online sales?
5. What have they done to increase awareness about Endhiran with the masses.
6. Why is there no news about the release date of the movie?
7. Is Sun TV going to limit the advertisements only to its Channels? they there will be pan south Indian reach but not a pan Indian reach.
hmm.. too many questions. But one success for Sun Tv is that they have made every one talking about the lack of advertisements. Let us see how they build on this expectation..! – But I don’t think the common man in the villages and towns are even concerned about Endhiran. This may hinder the mass market revenue optimization.
Anyways.. let us hope for the best!

First of all I would like to thank Mr.Sundar for the information regarding the audio release of Endhiran. I totally agree that there is no ad about the audio release of the movie in leading newspapers. I don’t see any reason in delaying the newspaper ad of Endhiran’s audio release. I think that they would release the ad in the papers only on the date of the auido release. But the audio CDs would have been booked by telephone already. Anyway, I am waiting patiently for July 31 like all others

I’m thinking that Sun will market this movie only as a Tamil/Telugu language movie and not as a Hindi movie. Except for movies like Roja, we haven’t seen many movies that was accepted by both Hindi and south audience together (in spite of dubbing). There are lot of cultural differences. Given this fact, Sun might have strategized to focus on tamil/south indian diaspora. Further Hindi media might pull this movie down like they did for Raavan. SRK has a strong backing within Northern media.
Around 2 Million tamils live in Malaysia (next only to Sri Lanka) per Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_diaspora )
Further, Malaysia is near to other asian countries like Japan/Singapore/China/Thailand. So, Malaysia is an ideal launch pad at an international level. Assuming Japanese and Chinese will also like Enthiran music, we can easily assume Enthiran audio CD/internet purchase will be done by at least 10% of the above population. Assuming the cost is around USD 5 (which is too low), we are talking about at least USD 1 Million or Rs. 4.6 crore from the audio sales in that region alone. This then leaves them to sell another 5 lakhs CDs in India or other regions to make another 5 crores, which total Rs. 10 crores from audio sales (conservative estimate).
Sun being a media empire, will run promotion after the Malaysian launch. The show itself will be telecasted multiple times on various south indian media. There is an adage “A picture is worth a thousand words!” – so far none of Rajini sir movie’s audio release had even had a function. There were no video associated with his previous films. Now, think of the audio launch function video (including interviews) as the promotion vehicle for Sun from now on until the movie release date. THIS IS POWERFUL MARKETING TOOL. Given these facts, Sun might be underplaying now…
If Sun succeeds in marketing Enthiran to Japan/Singapore/Malaysia/China/Thailand, it will get

4 .சாதாரண வேட்டையாடிய படங்களுக்கும், அட்றாரா நாக்கை வைத்து மூக்கை குத்திய படங்களுக்கும் கூட மக்கள் வெறுக்கும் அளவுக்கு build up விளம்பரம் செய்த இவர்கள்,உலகின் அழகு நட்சத்திரமாம் நமது தலைவரின் படத்துக்கு எந்த அளவில் செய்ய வேண்டும்..? பெருமையுடன் செய்து இருப்பார்கள்..என்னுடைய guessing படி,தலைவரும் சங்கரும் அவர்கள் கையை கட்டி போட்டு இருக்க வேண்டும்..காரணம்,தலைவர் அவரது வாழ்நாளில் நடித்த படங்களிலே மிகவும் கஷ்டப்பட்டு சிரத்தையுடன் ரிஸ்க் எடுத்து நடித்த மேலும் அவருக்கு பிடித்த படம் இது,அடுத்து இது சங்கரோட கனவு படம்..so இருவருமே கவனமுடன் move பண்ணுகிறார்கள்..sunpicture விளம்பர ஸ்டைல் அவர்களுக்கு தெரியும்..எனவே அவர்களை கன்ட்ரோலில் வைத்து உள்ளார்கள்..(இது என்னுடைய கணிப்பு தானேயொழிய நிச்சயமல்ல.bu இப்படிதான் இருக்கும் என்று நம்புகிறேன்..)

Could have been used a better still. Resembles the still in Sivaji(Athiradi song) with some weird creature (does not look good + copied from some other movies) surrounded. Getting more afraid to see these kind of stills(that resembles something), worried about the product/outcome. Hope Shankar does not do the same mistake.
